Arjun Kapoor bats for Tevar director
Arjun Kapoor may have given his nod to Ashwin Varde’s remake of Tollywood hit Arjun Reddy, but the director for the movie has not been finalised yet. While the producers are keen on getting the original’s director Sandeep Reddy Vanga to helm the remake, Arjun is batting for Tevar filmmaker Amit Sharma for the movie.
Says a trade source, “Amit has just completed another film called Badhaai Ho with Ayushmann Khurrana and Dangal girl Sanya Malhotra. Arjun, who shares a fabulous equation with Amit, has asked the makers to sign him on. Ashwin and Murad Khetani, who are bankrolling the remake, want the flavour of the original retained. They may give in for Amit, but will make sure that the art of the first film isn’t lost in translation.”
Arjun Reddy is a story of a young medical surgeon who turns into a bit of a Devdas when his girlfriend marries another man. Arjun finally agreed to do this movie after a bit of back and forth. Let’s hope for the best!
