Kriarj faces trouble again, Pari co-producer Kyta Productions backs out too?
Mumbai: Kriarj Entertainment, who could proudly boast producing Akshay Kumar’s hit films at one point of time, seems to be trouble’s favourite child these days.
After leaving Akshay’s camp, they went on to produce numerous movies – ‘Pari’, ‘Parmanu’, ‘Kedarnath’ and ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’.
The troubles started floating when Kriarj and Abhishek Kapoor had their fallout earlier this year with ‘Kedarnth’.
Kriarj claimed that the film was going over-budget and so there was an issue between them, which was believable at that point of time.
Recently, Abhishek decided to go solo with the film, which is again what happened with John Abraham’s ‘Parmanu’. However the situation with ‘Parmanu’ is a little different.
For ‘Parmanu’, John and Prernaa Arora (co-owner of Kriarj Entertainment) have been in a legal battle, for cheating, defamation and offences committed under Information Technology Act.
Things weren’t looking great anyway, and now Pinkvilla has gone on to report that ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’ shooting has been stalled too. No guesses why.
The situation went from worse to worst when even after Anushka Sharma’s co-produced movie ‘Pari’ released in theatres and became a hit, Kyta Productions, who were in a 3-film-deal with Kriarj, terminated their contract post ‘Pari’ itself.
The portal went on to report that the reason for all of these to throw off Kriarj as co-producer, is the issue of non-payment of dues.
After being kicked out of almost all movies, it now looks like Kriarj will face trouble to sustain themselves in the industry any longer.
