Sonam’s star-studded reception

It was indeed one of the biggest weddings of 2018, as Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja managed to gather the entire Bollywood industry under one roof. While Sonam looked ethereal and happy, Anand seemed peaceful and at ease. He made a fashion statement by pairing trainers with a sherwani.

While Shah Rukh Khan walked in with wife Gauri Khan, Saif Ali Khan came in with wife Kareena, and Karisma Kapoor. The evergreen Rekha made a style statement with her pant saree. From Ranbir Kapoor to Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotra to Aditya Roy Kapur, Karan Johar to Swara Bhaskar, it was indeed a star-studded affair.

Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan took the centre stage with Salman grabbing the mic and singing with Mika Singh.  

Shah Rukh even dragged Anand to dance with Sonam as Salman crooned the title track of Mujhse Shaadi Karogi.

Ranveer Singh, trying to outdo Shah Rukh’s energy level, carried Anand around during a song.

Kangana Ranaut, who tries to spot the best filmmaker at any event to take pictures with, was able to get hold of Rajkumar Hirani and Vidhu Vinod Chopra.

Ranbir and Alia made sure that they gave quite a few hints of them being a couple.

Varun Dhawan finally decided to get clicked with girlfriend Natasha Dalal.

It was also not bereft of incidents

After the party Ranbir came out in high spirits and many a paparazzi put their cameras down just to ensure that he wasn’t clicked. Cousin Karisma Kapoor gave Ranbir one hard look.

Veteran actor and politician Shatrughan Sinha was on his way to the party with his wife Poonam and son Kush, when he slipped on the stairs. Thankfully he wasn’t injured.

Soon after tying the knot, Sonam Kapoor had a name change on Instagram. The actress changed her handle from Sonam Kapoor to Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, suggesting that the name change could be across all platforms.

Hence, eyes are now fixed on Sonam’s first release after marriage, Veere Di Wedding, that releases on June 1, 22 days from now.

“Sonam’s name in the credits of Veere Di Wedding will appear as Sonam Kapoor Ahuja. The crew have already been instructed to keep her name in the credit rolls as Sonam Kapoor Ahuja,” confirms a source.
