Shraddha Kapoor competes with herself

Shraddha Kapoor needs more than one miracle right now. Firstly, she really needs a hit and secondly, she needs the maker of either film, Batti Gul Meter Chalu or Stree to shift the release date from August 31 to another date. If this does not happen, both films will clash at the theatres. “Shraddha recently revealed that the release date of her film, Stree is August 31. Batti Gul Meter Chalu’s date had been finalised long ago as August 31 and it is not a good sign for Shraddha because both films will cannibalize each other’s collections,” informs our source. It is also a matter of concern that one is a big budget film while the other is not. As our source says, “Stree is a small budget film with Rajkummar Rao, while Batti Gul Meter Chalu is a Rs. 42 crore movie with Shahid Kapoor and Yami Gautam.”

It will be interesting to see which director decides to be more accommodating. At the moment, even Rajma Chawal, starring Rishi Kapoor, is slated to release on the same date.
