Kapil Sharma biopic in the pipeline
Weeks after the release of Sanju, Vinod Tiwari, the director of the Krushna Abhishek-starrer Woh Teri Bhabhi Hai Pagle, has expressed an interest in joining the biopic bandwagon. He wants to make a film based on the life of controversial comedian Kapil Sharma, and he claims to have enough material to go ahead with his plan.
“In 2009, Kapil was finalised to play the lead in a Punjabi film. One that was eventually scrapped, since he was not a star. But he is a hard worker – I have seen that. He has faced many ups and downs, but he is easily one of the greatest entertainers in the industry,” Tiwari says.
The director is currently in talks regarding the project with Kapil. He wants to cast the comedian to play himself in the biopic. “If for some reason Kapil does not agree, we will have Krushna Abhishek play the lead role. The idea for the entire film is ready. We are looking at tracking his life from Amritsar to Mumbai, and his journey thus far,” he says.
