Junglee leaves the jungle for Mowgli
It was not a wise decision to come out on the same date, especially because Mowgli is a much-hyped project.
Warner Bros. has decided to release their Andy Serkis film, Mowgli, on October 19. This has made the makers of Junglee, starring Vidyut Jammwal and directed by Chuck Russell, postpone the release of their film.
“Both films have Hollywood directors and are aimed at the global market, though Junglee is an Indian production. Even though Mowgli is a dark take on the Rudyard Kipling novel, The Jungle Book, both films have jungle as the backdrop and hence it was not a wise decision to come out on the same date, especially because Mowgli is a much-hyped project,” says a trade source.
