Why is Ali Zafar missing from Dear Zindagi rushes?

In the new song from Gauri Shinde’s Dear Zindagi, we get a glimpse of all the people who matter in the film’s protagonist, Alia Bhatt’s life. This includes her best friend (played by Ira Dubey) her love guru (Shah Rukh Khan) apart from the man who has broken her heart (Kunal Kapoor). But there is no sign of Ali Zafar anywhere. Is this due to the fear of backlash from the anti-Pakistan brigade in the country? Perhaps.

The ordeal of team Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is still fresh in the minds of the industry and the audience, so Gauri and her crew are probably just avoiding the hullabaloo by keeping Ali far from the screen space, until the film actually releases in the theatres.

According to sources, Ali plays an important part in the life of Alia’s character.  “You can’t take him out of the plot,” asserts the source.

The track, Just Go To Hell, is about heartbreak sung by Sunidhi Chauhan. Amit Trivedi has composed it.
