Ranveer Singh and Akshay Kumar did not meet

Ranveer Singh’s team has shot down rumours that the actor went out of his way to meet his friend Akshay Kumar to discuss the impending clash of their films. Ranveer is starring in the much-troubled Sanjay Leela Bhansali movie Padmavat, which is reportedly releasing alongside Akshay’s Pad Man on Republic Day weekend.

Gossip mills had been abuzz with stories that Ranveer met Akshay because it would not just hamper the collections of both movies, but eventually their stardom as well.

“It’s not true,” says Ranveer’s spokesperson, however.

The two actors have often been friendly during their interactions and have even promoted each other’s movies in the past in a funny, albeit positive manner. However, they will not be able to do so this time around, thanks to their movies clashing. And that’s what gave rise to the speculation of the two trying to look for a middle path.
