Varun Dhawan's take on biographies

The actor also reveals that, if he ever had to do a biography, he would like to play his father, David Dhawan, on screen.

Varun Dhawan is one of the highest paid actors in showbiz and will be seen next in Kalank. The actor has an interesting take on a trend that seems to have gripped Bollywood, that of making biographies.

The actor says, “I get scared when I am offered any biography. Most of the time, I don’t want to do it because even when I play fictional characters, I treat them as biographies.”

Varun likes to infuse an element of reliability and realism in his characters. He says, “I am playing a tailor in Sui Dhaga. It’s not based on a particular person, but it’s based on my observations of common people and how they go to work.”

Despite his views on biographies, the actor has never shied away from experimenting with roles. Post the success of Judwaa 2, in which he played twins, Raja and Prem, the actor was seen in Shoojit Sircar’s October, where he plays a hotel-management intern dedicated to caring for a critically injured friend.

The actor also reveals that, if he ever had to do a biography, he would like to play his father, David Dhawan, on screen.

He says, “I think if I have to do a biopic on someone, though I have never got an offer before, but, in my head, the idea is to do a biography of my father maybe, one day.”
