#MeToo's biggest revelation soon? Sapna Bhavnani 'warns' Big B, gets 'warned' back

Celebrity hairstylist, actress and former Bigg Boss' contestant had the courage to speak to the megastar in the way she did.

Mumbai: The #MeToo movement has launched in a big way in Bollywood and spilled over to other film 'woods', music, media, politics, cricket and other industries rapidly.

Big names have surfaced, Member of Parliament and former news editor MJ Akbar, Nana Patekar, among a host of other notable names, to name a few, but can it be called a true movement till any of the superstars or megastars of Bollywood are accused?

Industry circles are abuzz with knowledge of misconduct from the part of several A-listers, but is it true that no one has the guts to call them out?

Celebrity hairstylist, actress and former ‘Bigg Boss’ contestant Sapna Bhavnani, did the unthinkable by talking to ‘megastar’ Amitabh Bachchan in a way not many could imagine in the country where superstars are demigods.

Few days ago, Big B got flak for his response ‘My name is not Tanushree and my name is not Nana Patekar’ when asked about the ‘Aashiq Banaya Aapne’ girl’s accusations against the veteran actor.

As more allegations surfaced around more celebrities and action started being taken against them, Big B, on the occasion of his birthday on October 11, shared an interview where he was asked about sexual harassment at workplace. This time he gave a better answer, saying how no women should not be subjected to any kind of misbehaviour and that such incidents should be reported and acted upon immediately.

Sapna was offended by the comment and called it ‘the biggest lie ever’ when a Twitter user shared Big B’s ‘support for #MeToo.’

In the most stinging message, she told Bachchan his ‘image of being an activist’ is under threat since ‘Pink’ released long back and that his ‘truth will come out very soon.’ “Hope you are biting your hands cuz nails will not be enough (sic),” she concluded her post and also courageously tagged the Senior Bachchan’s account.

She retweeted some comments who agreed with her views and later was shocked with posts and reports which alluded to Bachchan sexual harassing Sapna.

She cleared the air saying he hadn’t done anything to her, but was aware of many incidents where ‘he has’ and asked media to not ‘make a mockery’ of the movement.

Moreover, as she warned Big B, there were many who warned her back. A user informed her of a news channel running a story of ‘death threats’ to her since her revelation and she was shocked. She shrugged off comments from users saying she ‘should be scared of losing her life’ by asking if that’s how women should be kept shut.

She also had a ‘yawn’ response to the ‘rubbish of saying women are doing this for publicity.’

Will Big B be the biggest fish of the movement if the allegations are true? Or will the biggest stars enjoy immunity they did till now?
