Akshay Kumar bats for Bhumi Pednekar

Bhumi Pednekar, who always believes in picking unconventional roles, will now be seen in a thriller called Durgavati, which will be presented by Bollywood star Akshay Kumar. The actor feels that Bhumi was apt for this film.

“I thought it was an IPS female’s role and I thought Bhumi would fit the bill well. I wanted a girl-next-door kind of image. and Bhumi is someone who can pull off any role with ease. So I requested her,” he shares, adding, “I have done many such films where I have presented it. This will be my first film not being an actor.”

The news of the movie, directed by Ashok, was announced with an image where Bhumi is holding a placard saying “Hero”, and the director, producer, and presenters held similar placards with their roles written on them.
