On a snapshot binge

More and more celebrities are sharing their foodie sojourns on social networking.

Instagram series are the whole new rage among celebrities today as they are starting to open up more about their personal struggles through these mini videos. Causing a stir on social media with her weekly Insta series, are Shilpa Shetty’s ‘Sunday Binge’ videos that are hugely popular among her fans. From jalebis and macaroons to kulfi and chocolate chip cookies, Bollywood’s fittest diva has given her fans reason to visit her profile every Sunday, to see what’s on her plate! But the fitness freak isn’t the only one opening up about what she’s binging on!

Hollywood heart-throb Chris Pratt also followed suit by uploading mini videos titled #whatsmysnack on a day-to-day basis, to show his followers that despite his hectic fitness regimen, he too binges on tiny snacks that make his day! A number of models like Chrissy Tiegen, Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner to name a few, are constantly asked whether they eat anything other than healthy food by fans on their social media accounts. So, prior to the annual Victoria’s secret show, the models took to their social media where they uploaded themselves binging on pizzas, burgers and fizzy drinks, to show fans that they actually do eat, and even have cheat days! “Cheat days are a way to keep us motivated. It’s like a beautiful reward we look forward to, after doing our best and working out by pushing our limits. A sort of achievement for sticking to our goals,” says Sanjjanaa Galrani of Akshar Power Yoga.

While some prefer to binge on the weekends and give themselves a reward at the end of a hard-earned week, for others, it’s all about the balancing act. “I think it’s important to reward yourself on a daily basis – but keep it in control! Our fans think we don’t eat but the trick is to eat small portions of all kinds of foods. Depriving of certain foods cause us to crave them more and hence we tend to overeat them on our cheat days. So instead of that, I eat small portions of what I like on a daily basis, like Pratt, so I don’t crave it and then let loose completely as the purpose of all the hard work will be in vain.” smiles Sandalwood actress Sharmeila Mandre.
