Bhumi Pednekar to do Bhaagamathie remake?

Vikram Malhotra of Abundantia Entertainment has taken the remake rights of the film, which was a solo-lead heroine film that became a blockbuster.

Bhumi Pednekar has been approached to reprise the role that Anushka Shetty did in the original Telugu version of Bhaagamathie.

Bhumi, who recently acted in horror film Bhoot with Vicky Kaushal for producer Karan Johar, will do her first remake if all goes well. If Bhumi signs the film, it will be her first cop role.

Vikram Malhotra of Abundantia Entertainment has taken the remake rights of the film, which was a solo-lead heroine film that became a blockbuster. “The film revolves around a woman IAS officer who is imprisoned in a haunted house and interrogated by law enforcers who are investigating a politician whom they
suspect is corrupt. It has an interesting premise. The film had grossed over one million at the US box office and hence has immense international potential as well,” says a source in the know.

It appears that G Ashok, who had directed the original film, may return to direct the Hindi version as well. “There were issues about the length of the film, which were criticised in the Telugu version. But that may well be tackled in the Hindi remake,” inform sources.
