Akshay Kumar to replace Hrithik Roshan?

Since the Super 30 actor is out of Farah Khan's Satte Pe Satta redux, the director is now looking for the Padman actor to step in.

After a prolonged confusion about the casting of Farah Khan’s remake of Raj N Sippy’s 1982 semi-hit Satte Pe Satta, it’s now clear that Hrithik Roshan will not be a part of the redux.

And the latest grapevine suggests that Farah is not only altering the script radically, but she is also looking to replace Hrithik with none other than Akshay Kumar — her old friend turned foe, turned friend again.

Farah and Akshay had collaborated on the disastrous Tees Maar Khan in 2010 after she had fallen out with Shah Rukh Khan over his public dispute with her husband Shirish Kunder. But Tees Maar Khan (even the title was designed for SRK) was not a happy experience for Akshay, and the actor and director parted ways acrimoniously.

However, now, it looks like that the two are back to being buddies. Satte Pe Satta is one of Akshay’s all-time favourite films. Also, while Hrithik has already done a Bachchan remake Agneepath, Akshay is yet to try to encore the mighty Bachchan’s cinema. Satte Pe Satta would be Akshay’s first remake of a Bachchan-starrer, provided he agrees to do it.

Incidentally, Akshay and Hrithik are neighbours and live in the same highrise apartment. Last year, Hrithik stepped in to play mathematician Anand Kumar in Super 30 when Akshay declined the role. Maybe, it’s now Akshay’s time to pay the reverse compliment.
