How Ajay Devgn made his Marathi debut!

Nana felt that Ajay could contribute a lot more to the film than what he was already doing

It was Nana Patekar who suggested that Ajay Devgn turn hero for his upcoming Marathi film Aapla Manus.

Nana felt that Ajay could contribute a lot more to the film than what he was already doing. In fact, sources also add that the veteran actor was curious why Kajol did not play the role that Iravati Harshe did in the film.

A source explains, “Aapla Manus is a thriller. Nana felt that the film should have a commercial ingredient. Nana and Ajay have a good bonding having worked together in films like Bhoot, Apaharan and Raajneeti. Nana told Ajay that if Kajol does not play any acting part in the film, then Ajay should at least be doing a cameo in the film directed by Satish Rajwade. Ajay agreed. And it seems to have worked. Ajay’s entry in the climax of the film is now being greeted with a lot of whistles and claps,” says a trade source.

Aapla Manus released last Friday.
