Inspired by mom-in-law'
Author and director Tahira Kashyap Khurrana is gearing up to bring her labour of love to the digital audience, a short film titled Pinni.
Tahira has helmed the combination of a story with a pivotal cast for Pinni. However, what makes it more interesting is the fact that it marks Tahira’s homecoming to the director’s mantle after she took a break when she was diagnosed with zero stage breast cancer last year.
Pinni is a story of an Indian homemaker and her relation with food. According to Tahira, her mother-in-law is the inspiration behind the film. “My love for food comes from the titles of my films after Toffee (her first directorial), it’s Pinni. It’s an ode to this Punjabi sweet that I simply love. It is a very special film. It comes from the heart. And a lot of it is inspired by my mother-in-law,” shares Tahira.
