Criteria for choosing South films is different, says Taapsee Pannu
Actress Taapsee Pannu, who has also tried her luck down South, has come a long way in Bollywood. She is now a known name in both film industries. However, the actress says that the criteria for choosing films down South is different. Taapsee says, “Criteria for choosing films in South is very different from that of Bollywood. In the South, you get typical ‘heroine’ roles. Also, all that matters is whether your film works or not, regardless of the length of your role.” She says it is this difference that makes it difficult for South actresses to make it big in Bollywood. “I don't want to take names, but actresses who have come from South and starred in big blockbuster films here, haven’t been able to get a steady flow of projects. Starring in blockbusters hasn’t helped them make a big name for themselves here,” she added.
Although Taapsee’s latest films have done immensely well at the box office, she says she still experiences a sense of insecurity every Friday, “Currently, I am enjoying every bit of my life. I have set out a goal for myself and the journey is only getting better. Also, Just because my films have been successful in the past, it doesn’t mean I am taking it easy. Insecurity is still there every Friday,” said the PINK actress.
The actress will next be seen in Soorma, which is slated to release on July 13.
