Watch: Alia Bhatt sizzles to some foot-tapping Tamil folk beat-boxing

She was promoting Gauri Shinde's 'Dear Zindagi,' when she performed on-stage with Dharavi Rocks.

Mumbai: Very few stars can charm people across generations with their simplicity and innocuously disarming charisma.

Alia Bhatt, who happens to be one of them, has been busy promoting her slice-of-life flick, 'Dear Zindagi,' all guns blazing. Recently at a promotional event the popular city percussion band, Dharavi Rocks, shared the podium with her.

The actress impulsively decided to dance to their infectious beats, as she grooved to the band's Tamil Dappan Kutthu based beat-boxing.

The crowd was in for a delightful surprise, when the actress commenced her impromptu jig and cheered her on.

'Dear Zindagi,' incidentally is Gauri Shinde's second directorial.

The film, which has Alia Bhatt's character battling serious mental issues, has Shah Rukh Khan playing her quirky yet smart therapist, who gives her a fresh perspective on life.

The film, also stars an ensemble of male actors, Kunal Kapoor, Angad Bedi, Tahir Raj Bhasin and Aditya Roy Kapoor.

Reportedly, Pakistani actor Ali Zafar was replaced by Tahir in the film.

The music of the film has been composed by Amit Trivedi and the teasers have already been fetching rave reviews.

The actress, who shocked the industry with her achingly credible performance in Imtiaz Ali's 'Highway', which was just her second film, came back to shock them even further with her phenomenal act in 'Udta Punjab', a role that was diametrically detached from her own actual reality.

But fans who were craving to see her in a lighter breezier role, closer home, were delighted when the teasers and snippets from 'Dear Zindagi' started coming out.

The film is slated for a November 25 release.
