Aditya Chopra gives newcomer a break

Director-producer Aditya Chopra is known for launching many talents, from directors to actors. Many established actors in the industry today owe their first break to the Yash Raj production house. Another name that has now joined the list of YRF protégées is Gopi Puthran.

An inside informer reveals, “Gopi, who assisted director Pradeep Sarkar in YRF’s Mardaani and Lafange Parinde, has penned down a script and is all set to direct it. The upcoming director has met Aditya and has narrated the idea. The producer liked the idea and is planning to launch Gopi under his banner.”

Lafange Parinde, that starred Neil Nitin Mukesh and Deepika Padukone, was an out and out flop while Rani Mukerji starrer Mardaani did a fair business at the ticket windows.
