Next Friday the box office will witness a clash between Bollywood and Kannada film. While we have Shah Rukh Khan starrer Zero releasing on December 21, Kannad actor Yash’s film K.G.F: Chapter 1 also releases on the same date.

Since the clash is with the badshah of Bollywood, Yash has an interesting perspective that no other lead actor has said before. He feels that his Hindi venture has a strong chance after being pitched opposite a Shah Rukh Khan film.

“Nothing happens with a clash. There is space for two films every week. If they are in a good mood, they watch the second film. If they are in a bad mood, they still go to see the other film as well, to get over from the bad hangover from watching the other film. There will be competition for a good date,” says the actor.

Yash also reckons that there is nothing like regional cinema anymore. “There is no difference in regional and Bollywood films, anymore. It is about Indian films. Good films will be seen. We want to reach out to wider audiences today. Hence, the word regional cinema is outdated,” he opines.

The actor understands that promotions are the key in the Hindi markets. “When we are in this market, we have to promote the films. I am a Shah Rukh Khan fan. But if I keep saying that, people will think I am using his or his film Zero’s name to promote my film,” says Yash.
