Arshad Warsi has been in the industry for more than 3 decades. He tried making films but having burnt his hands as producer he has decided not to make any more films.

In his journey, Arshad is happy and content. He produced the film, HumTum Aur Ghost, which received bad reviews and bombed miserably at the BO. “I shall never try my hands at producing any more. I am happy with acting. I have come a long way. I have nothing to crib. From where I started to where I am now really makes me feel happy,” he said.

Arshad feels an actor needs to have a wonderful persona and intelligence. “Actors need to have a great personality, but also need to possess loads of intelligence. Handsome and intelligent actors sustain for a longer time. An actor has to understand the script, his character and above all understand what his director wants from him, in order to be able to perform the best on screen so that audiences like it and whatever the director wants to portray should be expressed exactly to his perception too,” he said.

When asked what he feels is the toughest genre, he said,  “Comedy. It’s the toughest genre to write as well as to perform. Actors have to enact it with the exact timing, matching with the other actor in the same frame/scene.”

Giving an example of working with a non-intelligent actor he elaborates, “If you can’t understand the discussion of a director then the scene goes flat and the aim of the story line that the director wishes to project does not come across. It happened with me. We were working in a comedy film and the scene that the two actors had to perform was very intense and serious. While I was reacting seriously the actor opposite me performed it with comic punches in it. He did a serious scene in a comic way. After the shot I just took him to the side and told him, ‘Kya kar rahe thai yar tum?’ He responded with ‘a comedy film hai na?’”

Arshad will be soon seen in Bachchhan Paanday.
