Making tough compromises
Outsiders always have a hard time breaking into the film industry. The same has been the case with Radhika Apte. The actress recently recalled the time when she had to do films just for the money.
“I did a lot of films that I never wanted to do, right in the beginning of my career. I did these because I needed money to survive,” she says candidly.
In her early days, she was part of films such as Rakht Charitra and The Waiting Room. The actress, who tasted success with films like Badlapur, Hunterrr and Pad Man later in her career, has now become extremely picky about her projects.
She says, “Now, I have better choices. But I want to put my foot down about a lot of things, which I still can’t do. You have to choose your battles, and you can’t change things overnight.”
Radhika will be seen next in Baazaar, Lust Stories and Shoot The Piano Player.
