Ranveer Singh awaits announcement on Kapil Dev biopic
Ranveer loved the script and the character of Kapil tremendously.
Ranveer Singh will soon play his first real life character of cricketing legend Kapil Dev, India’s captain of 1983 World Cup winning team. Ranveer was excited when Kabir Khan gave him a story narration.
Kabir replaced Sanjay Puransingh Chauhan as the director of the film, which was initially being produced by Vishnuvardhan and now has Phantom Films on-board as well. The film traces the journey of how Team India led by Kapil Dev managed to win the world cup despite being underdogs.
Apparently, Ranveer loved the script and the character of Kapil tremendously. However, Ranveer’s team is waiting for the official announcement to come from the makers.
“It’s too early to confirm anything regarding Ranveer Singh essaying the role of Kapil Dev. An announcement will be made by the production house as and when everything is finalised,” says Ranveer Singh’s spokesperson.
