Mumbai: Actor Sanjay Dutt who is all set to treat his fans with his upcoming movie 'Prassthanam' had the same director on board who helmed the original Telugu version.

Prassthanam is a fight for legacy between a father and a son and everything that ensues in between. The movie is a big-budgeted mass entertainer with a story that is relatable to anyone and everyone to an extent, across the nation.

The makers decided to maintain the authenticity by having the same director as the Telugu version in order to work on the minute details with perfections.

From the looks of it, the plot of the film where there is a clash between two generations of family for honor and legacy is common and relatable in almost every situation and is not limited to politics. This unique characteristic of the storyline creates a mass appeal unrestricted by geography and the audience.

In Prasthanam, Sanjay Dutt plays the role of Baldev Pratap Singh, the head of a political family and Ali Fazal and Satyajeet Dubey play his sons. Jackie Shroff plays a loyal guard to Sanjay Dutt's character in the film while Chunky Panday plays the main antagonist, Don Kaali.

Prasthanam is the remake of a Telugu film of the same name. It is directed by Deva Katta, who has written and directed the original film too. It is produced by Sanjay Dutt Productions and Maanayata Dutt, Prasthanam will open in theatres on September 20, 2019.
