Chitrangada Singh has her hopes pinned on Baazaar
We last saw Chitrangada Singh with Sanjay Dutt in Tigmanshu Dhulia’s Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3, a film that turned out to be box office dud and left the actress extremely disappointed.
Admitting that she was affected by the failure of the project, she says, “I was feeling terrible and miserable. We had a lot of expectations from that film. I don’t think any director wants to make a bad film, but this one didn’t turn out the way it was written. I was quite disappointed.”
Now, Chitrangada has her hopes pinned on her upcoming film Baazaar, which stars Saif Ali Khan. Talking about the most challenging aspect of the project from her point of view, she says, “I don’t get that much screen time in Baazaar, so that was a bit of a challenge. Without getting too many lines, I still had to help the plot unravel.”
“My character is warm. Though she is not in love with her partner, she looks at his games in a different way, and she thinks of how she would stand up against someone that strong,” she says, speaking of the role she plays in the film that revolves around money, power and the stock market.
She adds, “Nikhil and I have been talking about working together for a very long time. He was looking for someone who conveyed dignity for this role."
