Race 3 box-office collection day 2: Salman Khan film witnesses massive growth on Eid

The Remo D'Souza directorial witnessed an upward trend on day two by minting Rs. 38.14 crore at the box office.

Mumbai: After emerging as the biggest opener of the year till now, Salman Khan-starrer 'Race 3' is expected to enter the 100 crore club in the first weekend itself.

The Remo D'Souza-directorial witnessed an upward trend on day two by minting Rs. 38.14 crore at the box office, taking the two day total to Rs. 67.31 crore. 'Race 3' has dethroned Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani starrer actioner 'Baaghi 2' to become the highest opening film of the year so far.

Noted trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter and wrote,"#Race3 hits the ball out of the park on Day 2 [Sat]... #Eid festivities give MASSIVE BOOST to its biz... Day 3 [Sun] should score BIG NUMBERS yet again... ₹ 100 cr+ weekend on the cards... Fri 29.17 cr, Sat 38.14 cr. Total: ₹ 67.31 cr. India biz."

'Race 3' is a stand-alone sequel to the hit franchise 'Race'. With the third installment, Salman has replaced Saif Ali Khan, who played the lead in first two films.

The film also marks the onscreen reunion of Salman Khan and Jacqueline Fernandez after their 2014 hit 'Kick'. Directed by Remo D'Souza, 'Race 3' also has Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Daisy Shah, Saqib Saleem and Freddy Daruwala in important roles. The action thriller hit the theatres on June 15.
