Have done films for money: Konkona Sen Sharma

Konkona Sen Sharma has always been known for her diverse choice of films and has been a game changer for many actresses in showbiz. However,  she agrees to the fact that she has done movies purely for the financial reasons.

“I have done 45 movies, and some of them have been for the money. So, when people come and tell me, they have seen all my movies, it makes me wonder. Irrfan Khan is one of my favourite actors, and we have done some crazy movies back in the day.  Everybody does it to survive, and that’s okay. I have managed to buy a house and car all because of my films. I have no regrets about that all.”

The actress has grown up seeing her mother Aparna Sen struggle to make a film, and despite that, she chose to take up this profession. Ask her if she is okay with her son also choosing films when he grows up and she said, “I don’t have any high opinion of what he should and should not do. When he is an adult, he will decide. I want him to be a good human being and want to try and encourage that. I want to give him a good education.”

“That’s why I never wanted to be here because I have seen the other side. I never wanted to do movies, but I got film after film then it is hard to get out. I never enjoyed acting, and I used to cry on the sets. I didn’t enjoy it because I didn’t want to speak in public. I get a confidence crisis. Today, I feel grateful for the roles that I was offered.”
