Emraan Hashmi sick of being serial kisser

Emraan also reveals his wife Parveen has no issues with his lip-lock scenes.

Back in the day, when Emraan Hashmi made his way to Bollywood, he was quick to gain the title of a serial kisser — a title that has stuck with him for over a decade, despite him moving on to a variety of roles. And now, the Azhar actor is tired of the title, and says he doesn’t need any such term describing him.

“I got fed up of the tag a long time ago. The title just happened to be there, and back then I didn’t give it much thought,” says the actor, adding that it has now gone too far. “It’s something that I gave to myself, but now I feel it has been stretched unnecessarily, and too much.”

While Emraan says that he himself has personally grown out of the title, he pleads and expects the media to also let go of it. “In a way, this title does hamper my work. Sometimes, the media prefers to write about just that — the presence or lack of it. So either way, something has to be written about me being a serial kisser. Seriously, I have grown out of it.”

The actor, who started off his career with the film Footpath, says he doesn’t see the need for any term to describe him. “You don’t have to coin any term for me. And since I’m not a controversial actor, maybe this tagline helps bring such headlines,” he says. He adds that he doesn’t consider this as a baggage.

He also reveals his wife Parveen has no issues with his lip-lock scenes. “She is so bored of them that we don’t even talk about it — we have passed that stage. If she had issues with these scenes, she would have left me a long time ago,” the 38-year-old said.

Emraan, will now be seen in Baadshaao, but the film doesn’t have any lip-lock scenes. He also has a song with actress Sunny Leone, and says, “Sunny is a gem of a person. She is very professional always willing to give her best. It was a pleasure to share the screen space with her.”
