Gold actors defend Reema Kagti
In what’s being deemed a low blow, a Twitter user has suggested that filmmaker Reema Kagti harassed leading lady Mouni Roy during the making of the film Gold. But Mouni has been quick to dismiss the preposterous allegation saying that such false testimonies take away from the stories of real victims.
Meanwhile, another actor who worked on the film defends Kagti’s reputation, saying, “That we should even be speaking of defending Reema ma’am’s reputation is a crying shame. She is one of the most professional directors I’ve worked with. She is interested in nothing beyond her work. Between shots, she doesn’t gossip with her actors, and throughout the making of the film, she kept to herself. Now that she has come forward to lend her name to a petition in support of the #MeToo movement, someone comes up with this wild allegation? Not done.”
This actor insists on remaining anonymous because, “If I name myself, I’ll be shamed for crimes I couldn’t imagine committing. It’s a terrifying scenario out there. The accused must accept accusations quietly and anyone defending them is vulnerable to attack.”
