Ranbir Kapoor says no to romance
Ranbir Kapoor has decided to stay away from romance for the time being, and no we aren’t talking about his personal life.
The actor, who will be seen playing Sanjay Dutt in the latter’s biopic and then in a superhero flick called Brahmastra, has decided to not try romance or romantic comedies on the big screen.
“The failure of Jagga Jasoos has impacted Ranbir a lot,” says our source, adding. “He understands that he needs to do a variety of characters now, before people stop offering him such roles. He’s still a big star and has a strong box office appeal, apart from having brand value among corporates. The rushes of Rajkumar Hirani’s Dutt biopic are superb, and Ranbir now realises that he needs to change his route quickly.”
Ranbir recently outright rejected two straight romantic film offers, and asked the makers to come up with some more interesting scripts he could work with.
One can only hope that Ranbir, who gained fame with movies like Wake Up Sid, will have more luck with this gamble.
