Rajinikanth won't dub for Dangal in Tamil

I did approach Rajini sir, and he loved the film. We both felt his voice is too recognisable, as he is too famous.

Meanwhile, Aamir Khan revealed that superstar Rajinikanth would not be dubbing in Tamil for Dangal.

Speaking at the launch of Secret Superstar’s trailer in Mumbai, the actor addressed the media on the fact that despite Rajini liking the movie, the two felt his voice wouldn’t suit Aamir’s face. “The film will be dubbed in Tamil and Telugu. I did approach Rajini sir, and he loved the film. We both felt his voice is too recognisable, as he is too famous. We also felt that his voice would not suit my face. He loved the film and is very encouraging,” he told the media.

Dangal is to be released on December 23, and Aamir plays the part of Mahavir Singh Phogat; it shows his journey to train his daughters in the sport of wrestling. Aamir and Rajini had previously collaborated in the 1995 film Aatank Hi Aatank, and there were even reports of the former being a part of the Robot sequel. When asked about the scope of collaborating with the South star again, Aamir said, “I would love for him to do Hindi films. I would love to work with him and I’m a big fan of his. I’m looking forward to Robot 2.”
