Sonam’s extended cameo in Pad Man

Folks who had a preview of the Akshay Kumar-starrer film Pad Man reveal that while Sonam Kapoor may be a leading face in the film, her role isn’t that long.

“Sonam’s entry is in the second half — she plays a representative of an international organisation, who helps Akshay Kumar realise his dreams in the film. There is no real love story in that film,” says the source. Radhika Apte, who plays Akshay’s wife, and Sonam do not have much screen time together, the source adds.

More importantly, sources also say that the film is not really a biopic on Arunachalam Muruganatham. The names and locations of all the characters have changed in the film moving the film from the South to North India. Akshay’s character is instead called Lakshmikant Chauhan in the film.
