Nawaz to shoot for Thackeray this week, amidst controversy
Nawazuddin Siddiqui is shying away from the controversy of spying on his wife Aaliya, after being named as a witness in the case. However, he’s letting work take precedence over all, and will be seen under the arclights again this week.
Thackeray, a biopic, will go on the floors from Friday, and the director, Abhijeet Phanse has confirmed that he will “start shooting this week.” Nawaz had earlier done a photoshoot for the film, and the teaser-trailer was released by Amitabh Bachchan a few weeks ago.
As far as the case goes, Nawaz’s lawyer Rizwan Siddique has been arrested and remanded in custody till March 23. Advocate Rizwan Merchant, who claims that cops have “manipulated” the papers in Nawazuddin’s favour, is representing Siddique.
Merchant now plans to take-to task not just Nawaz, but also the cops who have indulged in “behind the scenes activity” to frame Siddique. They’ve also let Nawaz go scot-free, he alleges. “Why would anyone apart from Nawaz want to spy on his wife?” asks Merchant.
