Diljit Dosanjh bags Karan Johar's film
Diljit Dosanjh’s Bollywood career is going places! His latest performance, the role of hockey player Sandeep Singh in Soorma, has caught the attention of the likes of Karan Johar and Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
And while Bhansali is figuring out where he can fit this “incredibly honest actor” into one of his projects, Johar has already gone ahead and offered him a plum role in a film to be directed by debutant Raj Mehta.
Apparently, Rajkummar Rao was the first choice for the part, but he was unable to adjust his dates for the project. Now, Diljit is all set to share screen space with Akshay Kumar.
A source close to the project reveals, “It’s a very powerful role, parallel to that of Akshay’s, and pivotal to the drama. Akshay and Diljit are big fans of each other’s work, so it’s going to one helluva team.”
