Anaarkali is piracy-protected
To ensure that his upcoming film doesn’t leak on the Internet before its release, the producer of Anaarkali of Aarah, Sandiip Kapur, has obtained a restraining order from a Chennai court.
This means that strict action could be taken against 36 Internet service providers and over 1,800 torrent and other piracy sites, if any portion of the film is leaked.
Being an independent producer, Sandiip acknowledges the threat of film leaks and piracy. He says, “The risk of film leak and piracy can jeopardise the film’s investment. Apart from the 36 ISPs, we have taken a restraining order against 1,800 non-compliant sites because producers like us have to protect our own films.”
This action includes the deploying of high-end sophisticated tools to detect any violation. “Any content that is leaked and put up online on sites like YouTube, Facebook, Dailymotion among others, will be brought down within seconds. As independent producers, we invest our own money and the financiers’. Hence, all the necessary steps to protect our investment need to be taken,” he concludes determinedly.
