Nora Fatehi's dancing dream came true
With all the roles in Remo D’Souza’s Street Dancer 3D demanding killer dance moves and sass, it is no surprise that Nora Fatehi was cast in the film.
The 27-year-old, who is a self-taught dancer with natural rhythm, says she couldn’t be happier with the opportunity.
“This film is like a dream come true for me. From my childhood days and since the time I ventured into films, I always dreamed to be part of a hardcore dance film. Today, being a part of Street Dancer, my dreams are being fulfilled,” she gushes, giving all credit to her director.
“I had shot an album with Remo, and that time I had requested him to take me in his film. Remo is responsible for making my dreams come true,” she adds.
Nora recalls that asking the director for a role in the film was terrifying. “It was a herculean task for me to gather all my guts and say ‘Remo, I want to work in your next film.’ I remember I would practice these lines in front of the mirror but wasn’t able to say anything until the last day of the shoot. I gathered all my courage and before I could board my vanity van, I went back on the set and finally disclosed this request to Remo. And now here I am in the film. I thank Remo for casting me in this film and making it possible for me,” she smiles.
The actress says that the film isn’t just a work opportunity, but also a chance for her to represent her home culture. “On the stage, I am representing all the dancers from Morocco, Canada, and every dancer from India. By all means, this is a matter of pride for me. This film undeniably shows the hard work and struggle of each and every dancer to the forefront,” she shares, adding, “We all can feel the painstaking efforts that all dancers are ready to put in. I respect the dancers who have worked hard on this film and take this opportunity to thank them. Without their presence and support, this film would have not got the praises and recognition that it is receiving after the trailer launch.”
