BMC polls: B-Town stars cast their votes, urge fans to do the same
Mumbai: Bollywood is based in Mumbai and several celebrities from the film industry might have a special significance for the city and would wish the best for it.
With polling commencing for the 227 municipal wards in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), Bollywood celebrities woke up in the morning and did the most responsible thing to do on elections day: cast their votes and express their voice for the welfare of the city.
From John, Ranveer to Anushka and Shraddha, stars took to social media to show their inked fingers and urge fans to vote.
John posted a picture on his Twitter, captioning: Cast your vote..I cast mine!! #BMCElections2017"
Anushka Sharma, who is busy with her upcoming film ‘Phillauri’, started her day by casting her vote. On Twitter, the pretty actress posted a selfie of her with the caption: Started my morning by casting my vote. Voting is our duty towards our country & its progress. Pls go out&vote #VoteKarMaharashtra
Shraddha Kapoor was also seen outside a booth with her mother Shivangi Kolhapure. She and Ranveer Singh also requested their fans to go out and vote on social media.
Yesteryear actress and all-time diva Rekha was also spotted early in the morning to cast her vote.
