Salman happy with work I'm getting, called me after Fukrey’s good opening: Pulkit

Mumbai: Salman Khan is always known to back fresh talent, and one such person to have flourished under his guidance has been Pulkit Samrat.

Despite speculation surrounding their crumbling ties following Pulkit’s split from ex-wife, Shweta Rohira, Salman’s ‘rakhi sister’, truth is the superstar has stood by him right from debut ‘Bittoo Boss’ to the recent success ‘Fukrey Returns.’

In fact, Pulkit’s upcoming film ‘Veerey Ki Wedding’ also has a Salman connection. Pulkit’s brother in the film, Jimmy Sheirgill, who has become synonymous for ending without a girl in films, is seen mouthing a line in the trailer, “Rahul (Gandhi), Salman and I have decided, whenever we decide to get married, we will do it together.”

When asked if Salman is aware of the dialogue during an exclusive interaction at the Asian Age office, Pulkit replied, “I have been busy with ‘Fukrey Returns’, and he was busy with ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’. So we haven’t spoken since, but actually even I wasn’t aware of that dialogue. I saw it in the trailer itself. We don’t know certain scenes since we were not shooting for it. This was improvised on the set so that’s how I knew that this dialogue exists.”

Will he screen ‘Veere Ki Wedding’ to the superstar soon? “I might show the film to him if he’s in town. He’s much busier than me so it gets difficult for him to come and watch a movie. He’s in Bangkok right now. Now when he comes day after, then he’ll call me again. Then he’ll go to Nepal again for Dabangg Tour.

He added, “He’s more than happy with the kind of work that I’m having. His was  among one of the few calls I received the day ‘Fukrey’ opened quite well. That means a lot.”

Pulkit shares screen space with Kriti Kharbanda in the romantic comedy, set for March 2 release, and their chemistry is very much visible in the trailer, songs and even their visit at our office.
