What’s Rekha and Ash’s friendship about?

The latest sisterhood in Bollywood has all of the entertainment industry agog. We’re talking about eternal diva Rekha, and one in the making Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

Rekha’s history with the Bachchan family is quite known to the whole world. While Amitabh Bachchan completely ignores Rekha in public, wife Jaya Bachchan and son Abhishek Bachchan exchange polite greetings with the actress at most.

However, in a recent letter penned by Rekha, the enigmatic diva heaped praise on the ‘moon-faced’ Ash, and lauded her for ‘rising like a phoenix’ in the two decades of her movie career.

Says a source in the loop, “Rekha wants to feel close to the Bachchan family, and accessing Aishwarya is a means for her to do so. And Aishwarya has a mind of her own and is independent.” It looks like a rather interesting friendship is blossoming.
