The actress who is away in London with her musician husband Benedict Taylor, and has been there since the lockdown began

Radhika Apte took to social media to announce the release of her international project Liberté: A Call To Spy.

Directed by Oscar-nominated documentary maker Lydia Dean Pilcher, A Call to Spy is her debut feature film and will be released by fall this year. The actress who is away in London with her musician husband Benedict Taylor, and has been there since the lockdown began, posted, “Good news!! Our film A Call to Spy to be released by IFC (sic).”

The Andhadhun actress plays the role of Noor Inayat Khan a.k.a Nora Baker, a Muslim pacifist and the first female wireless operator and British spy who managed to parachute into the Nazi-occupied France to help the French Resistance.

Writer Sarah Meghan Thomas also stars in the film as American Spy Virginia Hall along with Stana Katic who plays the role of Special Operations Executive (SOE)’s Spymistress Vera Atkins, Linus Roache, Rossif Sutherland among others.

A Call To Spy is based on true incidents set 75 years ago in World War II when Winston Churchill creates a spy organisation ‘SOE’ in order to disturb the Nazi war machine.
