Katrina Kaif says she does not lean on male superstars for her success
Mumbai: Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif will be seen together again in Ali Abbas Zafar’s Tiger Zinda Hai. The two are reuniting on-screen after five years, with the sequel to 2012 blockbuster, Ek Tha Tiger.
In an interview with a leading tabloid, Katrina was brimming with praises for her co-star. "Wherever life takes me, Salman will always be family," Katrina Kaif revealed.
The ‘Fitoor’ actress also asserted that she does not lean on male superstars for her success. "If a female actor feels that working with the Khans is synonymous to leaning on them for success, she simply shouldn't work with them. However, I've always approached my career with the aim of collaborating with the most creative minds," the actress stated.
Katrina also called Aamir Khan one of the brightest minds in the country, and said that Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan are one of the best talents in the country and that she gets to learn a lot from these superstars.
"Why wouldn't I want to learn from them? I like to work on happy sets, with friends who share the same passion as I do," Katrina said.
"A female actor doesn't necessarily need to play the lone protagonist to display her strength. Why can't we have stronger female characters in bigger setups? That's equally empowering. What we offer in this film is a fresh perspective. We have a strong woman standing alongside a powerful man. There's Salman, who plays an authoritative character, but there is also me, matching that bravado," the actress stated.
Produced by Aditya Chopra, 'Tiger Zinda Hai' is set to release on December 22.
