Kangana Ranaut's social media debut
Having extensively campaigned for CBI investigation into Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, the prolific actress Kangana Ranaut has amassed a massive fanbase online.
Up until now, Kangana’s piece of mind was being shared by her team’s Twitter handle, but now, the Queen actress has made a debut on the microblogging website.
Taking over her team’s account, Kangana released a brief video, talking about joining the social media website.
“It’s almost been 15 years since I have been working in this film industry, and on several occasions, I have been pressured into coming on social media, but I have let those opportunities slide. Many people also took advantage of my absence and called me a witch on Twitter. But I still did not come on social media because I never felt distanced from my audience,” she said in Hindi.
Adding further, she said, “I felt that if I needed to say anything, then, I, as an artist, should say through films. I have said so much on women’s empowerment and nationalism through my films in an artistic way. But this year, I witnessed the power of social media. I was inspired by the way the whole world came together for Sushant. I have become hopeful that we can raise our voices in a similar way for new India. This is why I have come on Twitter for the first time. I am excited, and I am looking forward to this journey.”
