I doubt if Nagesh Kukunoor will ever make Iqbal 2, says Shreyas Talpade
Nagesh Kukunoor’s Iqbal turned out to be one of the career-defining films for Shreyas Talpade. However, the actor of the film, Shreyas himself says that Nagesh is not keen to make a sequel for Iqbal.
“There are certain things, which should be best left the way they are. Nagesh told me he tried doing that with Hyderabad Blues and he said he made a bad film,” says Shreyas, adding that he has been looking forward to work with the director.
“I hope we are able to work together again. As far as a sequel to Iqbal is concerned, I doubt if Nagesh will ever make Iqbal 2. If he finds a story suitable, then he will probably take the story ahead from where we left off. He will not just do it for the heck of it,” he added.
Released in 2005, Iqbal garnered attention and praises from the critics and audience. Recalling his memories shooting for the film, Shreyas says that he is proud to have been associated with such a film. He says, “I am so proud that I did that film. It was a big opportunity and a game-changer for everyone. We had no clue about anything at that point in time and I also didn’t know how the Hindi industry works. I was happy that I got a fantastic role and whatever I am today, it’s because of Iqbal. People remember me as Iqbal.”
