Yeh to same hai: Sunny Singh

Sunny Singh started out with Kartik Aaryan in Pyaar Ka Punchnama and while Kartik’s career is soaring high, Sunny is only making it to big leagues now.

Speaking about his friendship with Kartik, the actor is all praise and says he deserves the recognition. “Uski gadi nikalni hi chahiye (his career train should leave the station), I keep telling that to one and all. I am happy he is doing well. We are all good friends — Kartik, Nushrat Bharucha, Luv Ranjan and I. We are there for each other at all time,” Sunny smiles, adding that they can all call each other any time of the day.

“My relationship is the 3 am kind not only with Kartik, but it’s the same with Nushrat and Luv sir also. We may be very busy, but if we get a call we have to attend it. We are all like a family. We have to remove some time to be together always,” he reveals.

The actor has finally made it to the big leagues with his latest film Ujda Chaman, in which he plays a bald man. “Playing a bald character, I needed to walk and talk like I was. It is a character that has to be played subtly. Initially I had a little problem, but later on, all went well. I watched the remake of the film. I could understand the film even while watching and reading the subtitles,” he explains.

Sunny also weighed in on the stark similarity between his film and Bala, starring Ayushmann Khurrana. He says that he was surprised to see the likeness in the posters of the film as well.

“I did feel yaar, yeh same hai? (Oh man, this is the same?) But having said that, we as actors do not know what the other actor is opting for. I respect Ayushmann as my senior. He has given us good films, and his journey is different from mine. How would he know if I am also playing the same character? Vice versa too: How would I know what is he doing in his next film? We as actors perform our roles and then move on to other films. The director and producers are the right concerned authorities to take note,” he concludes.
