Kamaal R Khan apologises to South superstar Mohanlal over Chhota Bheem comment

Mumbai: Kamaal R Khan for once might have had to go back on his stance on his social media feed.

When he took on Mollywood supremo Mohanlal, who's all set to star as Bheema in the official adaptation of 'Randamoozham' said to be mounted on an unprecedentedly huge budget. Lalettan, as he's lovingly called, chose to ignore the rant, but the fans went about mercilessly trolling KRK.

Eventually, Khan took to his Twitter feed to apologise to the legendary actor and bury the hatchet.

Earlier, KRK had invited the ire of gazillion fans, when he took generous digs Mohanlal, by calling him 'Chhota Bheem'.

Mohanlal fans’ wrath knew no bounds since the scathing tweet appeared last Tuesday. As ‘Reply’ tweets, they have been hurling verbal stones at this  remark and some even mock at KRK for comparing him to funny characters. Realising the magnitude of Tweeple’s reaction, KRK himself posted another tweet wondering he ‘can’t understand why Malayali people are abusing him since morning?’ Anyway Mohanlal had not responded to the matter on social media.

Mohanlal himself took to his blog to reassure his fans that he won't be taking the role lightly and train hard for the role.

“Like most children in India, I too grew up listening to the tales of Mahabharata and Ramayana. For most people, Bheema was a loyal brother with a huge body and a large appetite. It was after reading MT Vasudevan Nair’s novel Randamoozham, I understood the emotional side to Bheema.

MT sir was the one who suggested my name for Bheema’s role and I’m thankful to him as an actor for that. But, I’m overwhelmed when I think of it now. Bheema has been part of my life for a long time now. I had become Bheema in 1985 film Rangam.

The film, set to be made in two parts, will be helmed by Ad filmmaker VA Shrikumar Menon, and produced by BR Shetty.

Expected to be the country's most expensive film yet, the makers are eying a 2020 release.
