Kiran defends fatima’s cast in Thugs

Ever since Fatima Sana Shaikh was confirmed as a part of the Thugs of Hindostan star cast, rumours have been rife that she bagged the project courtesy superstar Aamir Khan’s recommendation. However, Aamir’s wife Kiran Rao has cleared the air that Fatima, who was earlier seen in Dangal as Aamir’s daughter, was cast purely on the basis of her merit. “We don’t deal with casting. It’s Yash Raj’s film. Aamir, Adi and Victor decided the casting so they must have given it a good thought because it’s a big film. There has to be merit or else they wouldn’t take risk with such a big film,” Kiran Rao told a reporter while stepping out of a restaurant. To be directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, the film stars Aamir, Amitabh Bachchan, Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Shaikh in lead roles.
