The two megastars would be coming together for the first time in the much anticipated biopic on India's first freedom fighter.
Mumbai: Tollywood star Chiranjeevi returned to the big screen in grand style with 'khaidi No. 150' that had released in January this year.
The film, which released after his almost 10-year sabbatical from films did tremendous business at the box office.
It seems Chiranjeevi has got buoyed by the success of the film and has intended to do more films, following which he signed a biopic on freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narsimha Reddy.
The film has been titled ‘Sye Raa Narsimha Reddy’, chronicling the journey of India’s first freedom fighter, ‘the warrior monk who revolted against the despotism of the British Raj.'
The casting related to the film has been very much a part of the rumours mills since the past few months.
Reports of Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan joining the Telugu megastar on the film have been doing the rounds, which has finally been confirmed in an announcement video released by the makers.
Big B’s daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was also reportedly set to be cast in the film, with the actress reportedly demanding Rs. 9 crores for the role.
But South actress Nayanthara has pipped Aishwarya to the role, if she was ever considered for it.
Kannada superstar Kiccha Sudeep, Tamil actor Vijay Sethupathi and Jagapathy Babu have also been confirmed for the film.
Chiranjeevi’s son Ram Charan is the producer of the film, Surender Reddy the director, while A R Rahman will be composing music for it.
Cinematographer Ravi Verman, production designer Rajeevan, writers Paruchuri brothers complete the main members associated with the team.
With the announcement coming on Chiranjeevi's birthday, August 22, there could definitely not have been a bigger cause for celebration for his fans.
