Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra cold war heightens

Things are not quite as cool as they should have been between Karan Johar’s “students” — Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra. The rivalry, which began between the two when they vied for Alia Bhatt in the film Student of the Year, has spilled into real life as well. Mutual friends say the friendly façade has worn off. Apparently, the two one-time best friends are not even on talking terms anymore.

A close friend of the pair reveals,  “Varun has been climbing from success to success since Student of the Year. Sidharth has had several setbacks since then. There are bound to be problems because of this. On top of that, there is the Alia factor. Siddharth, who is close to Alia, didn’t like it when she signed up for films with Varun. But the Alia-Varun pair is a resounding hit with the audience, and there is little Sidharth can do about it.”

The icy-cold vibes between Sidharth and Varun have been felt by all those who know them both. “The two are no longer comfortable  around one another,” a source close to Karan Johar reveals.
