Mumbai: Salman Khan is one of the most bankable actors in the current times. Even though he just saw a flop in ‘Tubelight’, the superstar has already upped his game with ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’. But could you believe that he didn’t always want to be an actor?

Salman told Hindustan Times, “I think Shah Rukh was very focused when he came into the industry. I wanted to become a writer-director so I didn’t have a lot of interest in acting but I used to do a bit of modelling. Vis-a-vis acting, I feel one should go for it only when the offer comes to you.”

“I remember when I when I would go around looking for director’s work everyone told me, ‘You should become an actor.’ So I spent six months only thinking about it. Then I decided, ‘Let’s become an actor’ because who would have given Rs. 50 lakh film to an 18-year-old director?” he added.

Salman’s father Salim Khan too was a renowned writer, who has a film like ‘Sholay’ to his credits.
