PIC: Shahid Kapoor begins shooting for Padmavati!

Mumbai: Lately Papa Kapoor has been spending a lot of quality time with wife Mira Rajput Kapoor and his little munchkin Misha but the actor, who is basking on his ‘Haider’ and ‘Udta Punjab’ glory, is back with ‘Padmavati’.

Shahid took to social media to inform his fans about starting the shoot. Wearing a thick beard and pointy moustache for his part as Raja Rawal Ratan Singh, the star wrote: Day 1. #padmavati wish me luck guys.

Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali (SLB), the film will see Deepika Padukone in the titular role and Ranveer Singh as the tyrant ruler Alauddin Khilji.

Deepika has recently shot a Rajasthan-inspired ‘ghoomar’ style song for the film. Ranveer, too, has shot for his part.

Kapoor, who is working with SLB for the first time, urges his fans to wish him luck for the journey he has embarked upon.
